Airborne in Dubai
Dubai has a reputation for doing things on a grand scale, and its bi-annual air show does not disappoint.

Egg-cellent work...

As sure as eggs are eggs, TPS snappers don't mind ruffling a few feathers
when it comes to getting the right shot.
Photographer Nathan Clarke can vouch for that, having endured a major
henpecking session at a Nottinghamshire farm in the interests of shooting a
feature for Defra's Landscape magazine.
Shadowing Defra egg marketing inspector John Stephenson as he scrutinised
the produce of free range hens at the location, Nathan was keen to get a few
shots inside the hen shed. "I walked in and there were hundreds of hens
flapping around and pecking at our ankles," he said. "I've no phobia of
chickens, but it was quite an experience. I thought they'd be scared of us
but instead they gathered round and were pecking like mad."
Senior editor Matt MacAllan said: "The client was doubly happy with the
shoot, as the team profile in Landscape coincided with a Defra announcement
on the merger of the Egg Marketing Inspectorate with the State Veterinary
Service. So we used different shots from the shoot in SVS's magazine,
InView."
Cracking job Nathan...
